The word Phoenix derives from ancient etymology from the Greek, Egyptian, and English but what I find particularly interesting is this word is associated with the color purple, “Phoenician”, and the date palm. It’s also associated with the Sun. The Egyptians associate it with the Bennu, a ancient deity linked with the sun, creation and rebirth.


This is the origins of New Age reincarnation. The bird is also said to have a life span of 500-100 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.


What is also intriguing is this bird had a colorful plumage of purple, blue and green among other colors, and the Peacock also resembles these colors, but also the occult connect the Peacock to Satan.


The Phoenix’s ability to be reborn from its own ashes implies that it is immortal, though in some stories the new Phoenix is merely the offspring of the older one. In very few stories they are able to change into people.
Most beings spring from other individuals; but there is a certain kind which reproduces itself. The Assyrians call it the Phoenix.
It is said to be the ba of Ra to the Egyptians.


The Phoenicians were called the Sea People, of People of the Sea. Which is interesting considering the legends of the “City in the Sea” and legends of Atlantis too. Let’s remember this is where we get the obelisks!
Tyrian purple was first used by the Phoenicians, and closely related to “born in the purple” which is associated with the royal….hence Royal Purple and Blue because these people also introduced indigo dye.
The Roman mythographer Julius Pollux, writing in the 2nd century BC, asserted (Onomasticon I, 45–49) that the purple dye was first discovered by Heracles, or rather, by his dog, whose mouth was stained purple from chewing on snails along the coast of the Levant.
Considered by the ancient Greeks to be the mythical sacred “FIREBIRD”, others like the Persians, Romans, Chinese also revered this ‘bird’.

    This is what I ran across after surfing around looking up this subject.

    This past March the Associated Press broke an unexpected story concerning Barack Obama’s childhood in Indonesia. Apparently, as a young boy growing up in Jakarta, Obama’s care had been entrusted to a transgender woman named Evie. American readers were shocked. What were the chances of the president having a transgender nanny — and in Indonesia, of all places? Having worked closely with the transgender community in Indonesia for the past several years, I can say: actually, not that bad.

    In Indonesia biological men who believe that they are born with the souls of women are known as “warias.” The term is a melding of two Indonesian words: “wanita” (“woman”) and “pria” (“man”). As a group, warias are diverse, encompassing what we in America might call cross-dressers, transsexuals, drag queens, and effeminate gay men. What unites them is an irrepressible feminine spirit.

    I first learned about warias in 2005, when I saw a newspaper photograph of a gorgeous waria who had won a beauty contest in Jakarta. I knew about the “ladyboys” of Thailand, but I had no idea that transgender people could live so openly in Indonesia, a country with the world’s largest Muslim population. Like many Americans I had this notion of Islam as being oppressive and particularly unforgiving toward sexual minorities. How could a community of warias possibly exist?

    Three years later my curiosity as a filmmaker got the better of me. I took some Indonesian language classes and traveled to Indonesia to experience the lives of warias firsthand. Under the counsel of Dr. Tom Boellstorff, an anthropologist with 20 years of field experience working with the queer community in Indonesia, I landed in Makassar, a coastal city in eastern Indonesia known for both its strong Muslim faith and historic openness toward transgender individuals.

    I quickly discovered that warias in Indonesia are different from transgender women in the United States. For religious reasons, many are not interested in sex-reassignment surgeries. As one waria explained to me, “We believe we were born as men and must return to God as men.” Warias also hold notions of womanhood that would dismay modern feminists; for many warias, the height of happiness is to find a “laki-laki asli,” a manly man, and to spend their days looking after him.

    Perhaps the most striking feature about transgender women in Indonesia is their visibility in daily life, particularly in the beauty and entertainment industries. Many Indonesians are still unfamiliar with the terms “gay” or “lesbi” (“lesbian”), but they’ll undoubtedly recognize the term “waria.” In many ways warias in Indonesia are the equivalent of the gay community in the U.S. One of Indonesia’s biggest celebrities, whose popularity is comparable to Oprah’s, is a waria named Dorce Gamalama. Dorce started off as a young boy in show business and transitioned into her waria identity as a teenager in front of millions of Indonesians.

    This is not to say that life is a cakewalk for warias. Families rarely celebrate when they discover that their son is a waria. Evie, Obama’s famous nanny, suffered greatly after Obama’s family left Indonesia. Like other warias who lacked resources or family support, she fell into prostitution, experiencing violence from her clients and local police. Though warias may pray in mosques as men and celebrate Ramadan with their communities, they sometimes find themselves the target of Islamic extremists. To be a waria is to lead a life of extremes, one of both triumph and tragedy.

    As an American entering the scene, my initial interest had been in the role Islam played in warias’ lives. How did they negotiate their faith with their lifestyles? How did the members of their religious community receive them? When I approached warias with the idea of making a film on this topic, they were unenthused. “What for?” one waria asked. For them, religion was not a source of conflict in a way that an outsider might imagine. They suggested a film on a more immediate concern: how to find lasting love. This was a story overlooked by the mainstream media, which preferred to portray warias as buffoons or sexual deviants. A film on love could be a wonderful opportunity to deepen people’s understanding of their community, to recast their image in the public eye.

    And so our filmmaking adventure began. Waria elders came on board as advisors. A local health organization staffed by warias lent translators and story consultants. After I held introductory video lessons, several of their members also became the film crew. We traversed Makassar and its surrounding villages looking for subjects. There are warias who manage to find “husbands,” sometimes sharing them with biological women. There are warias who opt to live alone. And there’s even a small segment of warias who leave the fold because of family pressure, marry women, and have children. We tried to convey the full spectrum of these experiences.

    The journey hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had to learn to abide by the Indonesian notion of “jam karet” (“rubber time”), drinking sweet tea for hours until my subjects finally showed up, and to navigate the numerous languages spoken in Makassar. There were torrential rains, unbelievable heat waves, and the occasional foodborne illness. I survived, though, mostly thanks to the resourcefulness and unflagging commitment of my film crew. We kept each other safe, sane, and, most importantly, impassioned.

    After four years, the film is finally finished. We hope that it will show people that there is room in Islam, as there is in any religion, for differences in appearances, lifestyles, and sexual preferences. We’ve also tried to give audiences a new glimpse into transgender life, one that foregoes the usual emphasis on sex-reassignment surgeries, prostitution, and alienation. Our subjects search for love and try to forge meaningful human connections, despite whatever obstacles or heartache may lie in their path. Theirs is a universal journey, one that is both beautiful and inspiring.

    Marci Lee Bowers (born January 18, 1958) is an American gynecologist who operated a surgical practice in Trinidad, Colorado. She moved her practice to San Mateo, California, in December 2010.[1][2][3][4] Bowers is viewed as an innovator in the field of transgender surgery, as well as a pioneer, being the first trans woman to be performing the surgery.[1][5][6][7] Bowers has been referred to as the “Rock Star” of transgender surgery.[8]

    For many contestants, the Eurovision Song Contest is, sadly, the highlight of their fame. You can tick off, perhaps, a handful of names with resonance outside the competition’s camp confines: Abba and Celine Dion, of course; possibly Buck’s Fizz. But few have managed to keep themselves as constantly, consistently newsworthy in the 59-year history of the contest as this year’s victor, Conchita Wurst.

    Indeed, Wurst has risen, like the phoenix of her winning entry, from Eurovision. Her latest step? Closing Jean Paul Gaultier’s autumn/winter 2014 haute couture show in Paris this week, a spot traditionally reserved for the collection’s wedding dress, and seen as a badge of honour for any model. Conchita’s dress was black, and while her hair was rouged and eyes kohled, she was still resolutely bearded. Monsieur Gaultier bowed at her feet when he took his curtain call.

    Despite use of the female pronouns, Conchita isn’t, technically, a woman. She’s a drag persona created by 25-year-old Austrian singer Thomas “Tom” Neuwirth, a gay man who refers to his Conchita character as “she” but himself as resolutely male. “I would go to kindergarten in a skirt, and also to school,” said Neuwirth in a recent interview with Gay Times. “I realised there was something different at about 11… and of course I thought there was something wrong.”

    However, Neuwirth’s Eurovision victory as Conchita has been seen as a triumph against transphobia, leading to a headlining gig at London’s Pride celebrations, with further engagements to do the same in Madrid and Stockholm. She attended Vienna’s Life Ball – both dressed and accompanied by Gaultier, as it would happen – as well as the Cannes Film Festival.

    All in all, Conchita is not exactly conventional fashion-week fare. At least, you would assume. In actual fact, her appearance at Gaultier’s show has roots in the grandest tradition of hand-crafted, extortionately expensive clothing. Yves Saint Laurent, couture’s grand maître in later years but an enfant terrible when he began in the 1960s, made a habit of inverting the pomp of couture with a “joke” bride to close his shows. One was cocooned in Aran knit to resemble a Matryoshka doll; another sported a bridal coat embroidered with the pithy statement “Love me forever, or never.”

    Gaultier himself has certainly kept Saint Laurent’s youthful flame of dissent for fashion’s conventions burning. He has closed his shows with male and female “brides” in matching knits, swathed in tulle veils, and in 2011 chose Andrej Pejić, a then-male model noted for strikingly androgynous features, as the bride for his spring show (more recently, Pejić has described herself as living “in between genders” and has stated a preference for female pronouns).

    Gaultier also harbours an unapologetic, almost inexplicable love of Eurovision. He has previously compered the French television broadcast of the contest, and attends the shows himself. He famously dressed Dana International, the transgender Israeli star who won the contest in 1998.

    Less well-known is the fact he wanted Dana to appear in his haute couture show that July – however, the show’s date coincided with a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the expulsion of French Jews by the Nazis in 1942, prompting the singer to refuse. Her relationship with Gaultier remains intact – in 2011, he dressed her again in haute couture, for another Eurovision appearance.

    You may recall Gaultier’s appearances on British television – alongside the papier-mâché giraffes Pepe and Popo on Eurotrash – which cement his undeniable love of camp. But his championing of Conchita and Dana, on the catwalk and off, is something more fundamental, and more serious. Earlier this year, Gaultier told me: “I can’t talk for others and I never did something just to provoke, but I wanted to show different beauties and personalities on the runway when I started. And I still do.”

    What does it mean to test the spirits?

    Question: “What does it mean to test the spirits?”

    Answer: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world” (I John 4:1).

    In this verse believers are commanded to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” This same command is echoed in other parts of Scripture as well. For example, in 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 we find Paul exhorting the Christians to not “despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.”

    These two passages are just a few of the many that warn Christians to test the message that people or spirits proclaim. This is true in all situations but most importantly when a person or spirit is claiming to speak for God. Christians are to be discerning hearers and readers of all messages. The reason for the admonition to “test the spirits” or “test all things” is that there are “many false prophets” or “wolves in sheep’s clothing” that try to lead Christians astray. Sadly, there are many people who claim to speak for God who are presenting a false gospel that is powerless to save. Such errant teaching leaves people with a false hope of salvation and, in a way, inoculates them from the true message. People who are deceived into thinking everything is fine will be more resistant to the truth.

    Second Corinthians 11:13-15 warns us that “such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” So the reason for testing the spirits, for testing all religious teaching is to see if it is truly from God or if it is a lie from Satan and his servants.

    The test is to compare what is being taught with the clear teaching of the Bible. The Bible alone is the Word of God; it alone is inspired and inerrant. Therefore, the way to test the spirits is to see if what is being taught is in line with the clear teaching of Scripture. In Acts 17:10-11 the Berean Jews were commended because, after they heard the teachings of Paul and Silas, they “examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” The Bereans were called “noble” for doing so.

    Testing the spirits means that one must know how to “examine the Scriptures.” Rather than accept every teaching, discerning Christians diligently study the Scriptures. Then they know what the Bible says and therefore can “test all things and hold fast to what is true.” In order to do this, a Christian must “be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The Word of God is to be “a lamp” and “a light” to our path (Psalm 119:105). We must let its light shine on the teachings and doctrines of the day; the Bible alone is the standard by which all truth must be judged.

    Not long after reading the Kite Runner, I learned that when the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 1999 from the Russians, they prohibited the cultivation and sales of poppies and heroin. In fact from 1999-2001, opium producion in Afghanistan dropped over 90%. Since, 9/11 and US invasion, opium production has increased to twice pre-9/11 levels. Pat Tillman, defensive back for the Cardinals was assassinated for sending letters expressing his desire to use his fame to protest the fact that US Troops were being used in Afghanistan to assist in poppy production and cultivation.

    Now new WikiLeaks info reveals that Texas-based DynCorp was pimping out young boys and buying drugs for Afghan police. bacha bazi is a pre-Islamic Pashtun, Afghan tradition that was banned by the Taliban. Bacha boys are eight- to 15-years-old. They put on make-up, tie bells to their feet and slip into scanty women’s clothing, and then, to the whine of a harmonium and wailing vocals, they dance seductively to smoky roomfuls of leering older men. These young boys are then sold as sex slaves to the highest bidder.

    This bach bazi is a significant element of the plot of the Kite Runner. In the story, the main character must go back to Afghanistan to save his nephew from being a “bacha bazi” sex slave. However, according to the book, it was the Taliban who were the pedophiles. However, I knew this was lie when I read it, and the book was propaganda designed to shift public opinion against the Taliban. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am no fan of the Taliban or Berkas. But, the sick thing is, is the real pedophiles and drug dealers in Afghanistan are the globalist companies like DynCorp who have been controlling poppy production in Myanmar and Afghanistan for millennia.

    Renée Richards (born August 19, 1934) is an American ophthalmologist, author and former professional tennis player. In 1975, Richards underwent sex reassignment surgery. She was denied entry into the 1976 US Open by the United States Tennis Association, citing an unprecedented women-born-women policy. She disputed the ban, and the New York Supreme Court ruled in her favor in 1977. This was a landmark decision in favor of transsexual rights. Through her fight to play tennis as a women, she challenged gender roles and became a role model and spokesperson for the transgender community

    Richards applied to play in the US Open and was denied the right to play in 1976. The United States Tennis Association (USTA), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), and the United States Open Committee (USOC) required all women competitors take a gender verification test called the Barr body test that tested their chromosomes. Richards refused to take the test, and so was barred from USTA tournaments. She wasn’t allowed to play in the US Open, the British Open, or the Italian Open in the summer of 1976. She then decided to sue the USTA, claiming she was being discriminated against and that she had the right to play. Her case went all the way to the New York Supreme Court. Judge Alfred M. Ascione heard her case. Her case was focused around discrimination based on gender, which violated the New York Human Rights Law. Richards felt that participating in the tournament would constitute “an acceptance of her right to be a women.” Some of USTA members felt that others would undergo sex change to enter women’s tennis. Sports Illustrated called Renee Richards an “extraordinary spectacle: and characterized reactions to her as “varying from astonishment to suspicion, sympathy, resentment, and more often than not, utter confusion.” The USOC stated, “there is competitive advantage for a male who has undergone a sex change surgery as a result of physical training and development as a male.” Richards finally agreed to take the test. Rer results were ambiguous. She refused to take it again and therefore was barred from play. Judge Ascione ruled that the USTA intentionally discriminated against Richards and on August 16, 1977 the court granted Richards an injunction against the USTA and the USOC which allowed her to play in the 1977 US Open. The court ruled: “This person is now a female” and that requiring Richards to pass the Barr body test was “grossly unfair, discriminatory and inequitable, and a violation of her rights.” This ruling allowed her to play in the 1977 Women’s US Open where she lost to Virginia Wade in the first round, but made it to the finals in doubles.

They seem to believe that true equality is best measured simply by the number of gay characters on prime-time television and the covers of magazines. They seem to overlook a bundle of statistics that show LGBT people still regularly face physical harm, are more likely to be murdered, and are more likely to commit suicide. They seem to ignore the data that shows that in many states, we can still be fired for our sexual orientation—and we still earn less. To those who say the LGBT rights movement has gone far enough, because we’re in danger of tipping the scales to some kind of “reverse discrimination,” I say, again: Look at the numbers.

    Laodicean church pastor Rick Warren appeared in Congress with pop icon and outspoken homosexual Elton John on Wednesday to ask for more money for AIDS research. They were clearly having such a good time that they started holding hands as you see in the photo below.

    Alito noted the high court’s 1983 decision to revoke the tax-exemption of Bob Jones University in South Carolina because it barred interracial dating. Alito asked if the government would take such action against religiously affiliated schools that oppose same-sex marriage. Verrilli said, “It is certainly going to be an issue. I don’t deny that.”

    And last week in Congress, Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Rep. Raul Labrador of Idaho, both Republicans, introduced the First Amendment Defense Act, which would prohibit the federal government from taking action against an institution that opposes same-sex marriage by revoking a tax-exemption or barring them from receiving grants or contracts.

    But do churches, in 2014 and beyond, have something to fear if they refuse to perform same-sex weddings, particularly if the Supreme Court goes the way of a growing number of district courts (including today in Texas) and strikes down same-sex marriage bans as unconstitutional?

    I asked Caroline Mala Corbin, a First Amendment expert at the University of Miami School of Law, who told me, “Given that churches have long been able to discriminate against women without losing their tax exempt status, it seems highly unlikely that they risk losing their tax exempt status because they discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.”

    As to whether the Bob Jones decision by the Supreme Court, which upheld the revocation of the school’s tax exempt status, had any bearing on such a scenario for anti-marriage equality churches, Corbin noted, “crucial to the Bob Jones decision was the argument that discrimination on the basis of race violated fundamental public policy and that ‘there can do longer be any doubt that racial discrimination in education violates deeply and widely accepted views of elementary justice.’ We have not reached this deep consensus on sexual orientation discrimination.”

    What’s more, Corbin added, the Supreme Court ruling in the Bob Jones case “confined its holding to religious schools and suggested that its ruling may not apply to churches,” as the Court noted, “We deal here only with religious schools—not with churches or other purely religious institutions.”

    501c3 Church Facts

    Lyndon B. Johnson, LBJMost churches in America have organized as “501c3 tax-exempt religious organizations.” This is a fairly recent trend that has only been going on for about fifty years. Churches were only added to section 501c3 of the tax code in 1954. We can thank Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson for that. Johnson was no ally of the church. As part of his political agenda, Johnson had it in mind to silence the church and eliminate the significant influence the church had always had on shaping “public policy.”

    Although Johnson proffered this as a “favor” to churches, the favor also came with strings attached (more like shackles). One need not look far to see the devastating effects 501c3 acceptance has had to the church, and the consequent restrictions placed upon any 501c3 church. 501c3 churches are prohibited from addressing, in any tangible way, the vital issues of the day.

    For a 501c3 church to openly speak out, or organize in opposition to, anything that the government declares “legal,” even if it is immoral (e.g. abortion, homosexuality, etc.), that church will jeopardize its tax exempt status. The 501c3 has had a “chilling effect” upon the free speech rights of the church. LBJ was a shrewd and cunning politician who seemed to well-appreciate how easily many of the clergy would sell out.

    Did the church ever need to seek permission from the government to be exempt from taxes? Were churches prior to 1954 taxable? No, churches have never been taxable. To be taxable a church would first need to be under the jurisdiction, and therefore under the taxing authority, of the government. The First Amendment clearly places the church outside the jurisdiction of the civil government: “Congress shall make NO LAW respecting an establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

    Religion cannot be free if you have to pay the government, through taxation, to exercise it. Since churches aren’t taxable in the first place, why do so many of them go to the IRS and seek permission to be tax-exempt? It occurs out of:
    •Ignorance (“We didn’t know any better”)
    •Bandwagon logic (“Everyone else is doing it”)
    •Professional advice (many attorneys and CPAs recommend it)

    Does the law require, or even encourage, a church to organize as a 501c3? To answer that question let’s turn to what the IRS itself has to say.

    Churches Need Not Apply

    In order to be considered for tax-exempt status by the IRS an organization must fill out and submit IRS Form 1023 and 1024. However, note what the IRS says regarding churches and church ministries, in Publication 557:
    Some organizations are not required to file Form 1023. These include: Churches, interchurch organizations of local units of a church, conventions or associations of churches, or integrated auxiliaries of a church, such as a men’s or women’s organization, religious school, mission society, or youth group. These organizations are exempt automatically if they meet the requirements of section 501(c)(3).
    Churches Are “Automatically Tax-Exempt”

    According to IRS Code § 508(c)(1)(A):
    Special rules with respect to section 501(c)(3) organizations. (a) New organizations must notify secretary that they are applying for recognition of section 501(c)(3) status. (c) Exceptions. (1) Mandatory exceptions. Subsections (a) and (b) shall not apply to— (A) churches, their integrated auxiliaries, and conventions or associations of churches.
    This is referred to as the “mandatory exception” rule. Thus, we see from the IRS’ own publications, and the tax code, that it is completely unnecessary for any church to apply for tax-exempt status. In the IRS’ own words a church “is automatically tax-exempt.”

    Churches Are “Automatically Tax-Deductible”

    And what about tax-deductibility? Doesn’t a church still need to become a 501c3 so that contributions to it can be taken as a tax deduction? The answer is no! According to IRS Publication 526:
    Organizations That Qualify To Receive Deductible Contributions You can deduct your contributions only if you make them to a qualified organization. To become a qualified organization, most organizations other than churches and governments, as described below, must apply to the IRS.
    In the IRS’ own words a church “is automatically tax-deductible.”

    Churches Have a Mandatory Exception To Filing Tax Returns

    Not only is it completely unnecessary for any church to seek 501c3 status, to do so becomes a grant of jurisdiction to the IRS by any church that obtains that State favor. In the words of Steve Nestor, IRS Sr. Revenue Officer (ret.):
    “I am not the only IRS employee who’s wondered why churches go to the government and seek permission to be exempted from a tax they didn’t owe to begin with, and to seek a tax deductible status that they’ve always had anyway. Many of us have marveled at how church leaders want to be regulated and controlled by an agency of government that most Americans have prayed would just get out of their lives. Churches are in an amazingly unique position, but they don’t seem to know or appreciate the implications of what it would mean to be free of government control.”
