Images of Jesus
Seems we have an issue which brings many people into debate, an issue which is true to heart of many Believer’s but who do we believe?
We have people who claim they died and went to heaven, and those who just say they had an encounter with Jesus. While others will tell you stories of how they were taken to hell and Jesus came to them in hell.
I’m not sure what to believe anymore when someone tells of these experiences. Do you?
I have no doubt that the Antichrist will come looking like these pictures which originally came from the Roman Catholic Church. This is how the Antichrist will be able to fool so many people.
So, what do we believe?
In Exodus 20:4-5, we read, “You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them…”
Sadly, in addition to that, it is most often the case that the image or statue itself becomes the object of worship, and this would be breaking the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3): “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
John described in Revelation 1:14: “His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His right hand seven stars: and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.”
Would GOD have inspired this description unless He wanted us to know Christ’s glorified appearance?
But if you read this carefully….it does not reveal what we see in these pictures given to us by the church.
So, what is the answer?
My opinion is keep the pictures of the church where they are…in the dust! I don’t use picture’s of Jesus Christ if I can help it!
I don’t want to blasphemy GOD or His Son, Jesus Christ in any way, shape or form. Literally.
So, when you hear of these experiences people have, respect them for sharing but keep in mind…idolatry is also an image!
