What’s Going on in Florida?
The “Weird Florida” list is long, as it is for many states but something strange is going on in Florida.
SATANIC COLORING BOOK
A group called the Satanic Temple is to start distributing information about their practices and beliefs to school children in Florida.
The information included advising the kids of their legal right to practice satanism, the philosophy of satanism and the way the Satanic Temple works.
Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves explains: “We think the responsible thing to do is to ensure that these students are given access to a variety of differing religious opinions, as opposed to standing idly by while one religious voice dominates the discourse and delivers propaganda to youth.”
“I am quite certain that all of the children in these Florida schools are already aware of the Christian religion and its Bible, and this might be the first exposure these children have to the actual practice of Satanism. We think many students will be very curious to see what we offer,” Greaves added.

Its message? “Happy Holidays from the Satanic Temple.”
The Satanic Temple, along with Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, announced that Florida officials had agreed to allow the temple’s holiday display at the state capitol in Tallahassee from Dec. 22-29, in an area designated as an open forum for private speech.

Florida Schools Ban Bibles After Pressure from Atheists
CNSNews.com) – Amid mounting pressure from both atheist groups and concerned parents, Orange County (Fla.) Public Schools have banned Bible distribution in several area high schools after Satanists and an anti-religion group announced plans to pass out their own literature.
LICENSE TO PRAY
The City of Lake Worth, in Palm Beach County, has taken the position all churches are required to obtain a “business license” to conduct worship services.
Churches in Lake Worth, population 36,000, have been ordered to acquire a business license.
City-code enforcement officer, Gerard A. Coscia:
“I inspected the property and found the following violations: Business-rental property found without a current City of Lake Worth business license, specifically to operate as a church, or a house of worship,” Coscia wrote in his case narrative, according to the Lake Worth Tribune.
Common Grounds Coffee Bar does have a business license, Pastor Mike Olive told the Tribune. He should know – he owns the business. And the site is not a church – it’s a coffee shop that leases space to a church every Sunday morning in the same manner other city restaurants and businesses rent their back rooms to neighborhood groups for their meetings.

War on religion? Lake Worth orders churches to have license to pray
The city has threatened Common Ground’s landlord with daily fines up to $500 and foreclosure if the “violation” is not corrected by the landlord making the church get a “business license” to meet for worship.
What initiated this? Here’s my guess….
City Commissioner Andy Amoroso, who owns a newsstand and gay-pornography shop in Lake Worth, was telling people Olive and his church were “anti-gay,”….
