Believer’s and Deceiver’s
People take the word CHURCH very seriously, and Satan knows this!
DESIGN & INSPECTION
This word [ecclesia] translated church is only a term mean to represent an assembly of people.
It has NO SPECIAL theological meaning!
It can refer to a regular assembly of citizens or a group of people gathered for religious purposes.
The letters to the SEVEN CHURCHES use the term “church” in the sense that it’s a local gathering. You see, this word is utilized for gatherings of “Believer’s & Unbeliever’s alike.
You got to get this! The letters involve the visible church rather than the invisible church. The “invisible” church is sometimes referred to as the “UNIVERSAL CHURCH”!
Also, the visible church is the local body which consists of believers and unbelievers!
The word, “know” (Οἶδα) [Oida], expresses Jesus Christ’s self-claim of knowledge in each of the seven messages in contrast to “I know” (γινώσκω ginōskō). It depicts absolute clearness of mental vision, which photographs all facts of life as they pass. It, not ginōskō, is always the word used of Christ’s knowledge in Revelation.
We call the contents of these chapters Epistles; but they are not so much messages from an absent Lord as sentences of a present Judge, engaged in the solemn act of inspection and decision.
OK! Did you get that? Was it too confusing? I hope not. It’s perfectly clear to me. Satan loves to confuse the masses and this is exactly what has been happening since the beginning!
Before continuing, let’s BREAK IT DOWN! Love that phrase…
People love to categorize…that’s what we do, right? It’s a form of profiling. It’s been going on for thousands of years and the only difference between now and then was there are lockers to shove kids into! Just a joke, people! LOL
So what’s the difference? LIFESTYLE.
We are told to be like Jesus Christ. LOVE-HOPE-FAITH is a perfect example of this. GOD is love. HE created it. Jesus Christ is love. Hope is the sense of fulfillment we have when we love GOD. It fills us with a sense of belonging, of togetherness. That’s my analogy. Faith is our belief in Salvation. Again, my analogy.
Salvation results in a new heart and soul. Therefore, a new future.
We live in a battlefield…
I have family who said..”I believe that “something” exists beyond the material realm, but that “something” is yet unidentified/undefined and unknowable. Then, they went to…”well, I just don’t know”. Now, they acknowledge that there is NO god.
Eastern philosophy teaches always leaves open the possibility that “we are gods”.
Letsism (literally- “Somethingism”) is the belief that “something” is out there…but it’s just another form of agnosticism. Another trait of letsism is the accceptance of ALL forms of spiritualism…such as astrology, crystal healing, occult phenomena, mediums, etc. And eventually, people begin to lean toward Eastern philosophy as an answer to their emerging belief system.
I believe we have a winner, here! This is the new “church”.
The ability to form a new identity within the religious sect….all religions into one. What people don’t realize is that this was Satan’s goal all along!
What they don’t see is this…NO choice is a choice! You can’t ride a fence…eventually you fall, to one side or the other.
This is what The Bible refers to as “unequally yoked”.
A yoke is a wooden bar that joins two oxen to each other and to the burden they pull. An “unequally yoked” team has one stronger ox and one weaker, or one taller and one shorter. The weaker or shorter ox would walk more slowly than the taller, stronger one, causing the load to go around in circles. When oxen are unequally yoked, they cannot perform the task set before them. Instead of working together, they are at odds with one another.
What people of all kinds don’t see is that unbeliever’s make choices and there are formed by their beliefs…this taints their belief system.
In 2 Corinthians 6:14, we are told not to be yoked with unbelievers. The present/past/future command is here. Paul is warning us. Paul is not warning us against the potential danger but is actually instructing people to STOP! This means it’s an action already in progress.
An easy solution to a complex problem!
Paul is being diplomatic but the truth is…he attempts to cushion the force of his command….no wait! of GOD’s COMMAND. We are not equal to unbelievers. We are not told to have NO contact with unbelievers but there is a conflict of interest stemming from incompatible loyalties.
WE SEE THIS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!
There are SO MANY “churches” and “pastors” who are doing EXACTLY that!
A Church Divided is what? A church that will NOT stand.
HOLLYWOOD uses engaging characters, like those on “Will & Grace”, and “Modern Family”…to normalize homosexuality.
Even worse…if someone speaks out against homosexuality now, they are called a “hater/basher”. This is how the elite are coming against GOD. This is tyranny.
You CANNOT live in this world and not be affected by it. It’s impossible.
This article was printed way back in 2013, but it’s just as current today:
But, it gets worse…
Andrew Breitbart WAS a major player in the game. That’s why he was taken out! Yes, taken out!
You see…this is just ONE example of a divided church!! But, it’s one that could potentially be life-threatening. Do you see how the world works? Satan is in control of the church too.
This is my point! Do you notice that The Bible is not centered around a “CHURCH” but around the believer. The Bible is centered around THE PATH to GOD. Jesus Christ is The Path. The Only Path to GOD.
“Christian”–few words in the English language carry as much baggage as this one! It’s a loaded term…no doubt! But, in case you didn’t know…the early “church” did not call themselves by that name. The early church was called “Christians” by the powers-that-be for the first time in Antioch (Acts 11:26). It wasn’t a name Jesus’ disciples gave themselves—it was a name given to them by the society in Antioch.
Some cultural context might help. Antioch was referred to as “all the world in one city,” where you could see all the world’s richness and diversity in one place. And the marketplace was its hub. Antioch was designed like most cities of that day: A circular wall on the outside, a marketplace in the center, with the interior of the city walled in way that divided different people groups from one another.
Reminds me of Atlantis! But it also reminds me of the word segregation.
Enter Christ-followers. Enter the Gospel.
After Acts 11:26 the word “Christians” is used only two other times in the New Testament: in Acts 26:28 (by Agrippa, an unbelieving King that applied the name he knew as an outsider) and 1 Peter 4:16 (in the context of being oppressed in wider society under that given name). In each reference, the emphasis, inherent in the original Greek, is on the fact that people from outside the faith recognized Christians as a distinct group.
Did you know that The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ called His followers by the name of “Saints”.
This term makes so much more sense! This reflects not just the individual but the connection to a group of people set apart for the Lord and His Kingdom.
Beginning with Adam’s first task of naming the animals, throughout human history and even today, the creation of a new name or title is significant. A name is embedded with deep meaning drawn from experiences that help define reality in language we can understand.
A secular world has within in the believer and unbeliever who are driven by different sets of values, the one characterized by righteousness (dikaiosyne), the other by lawlessness (anomia).
Light and darkness cannot share the same space. That’s a trick sentence but you must understand. The world is in darkness…encased in it. And until GOD shines the light of The Word in our hearts, we remain in this void.
The heart of the problem? Corinth was home to renowned temples, the temple of Aphrodite (the goddess of love, fertility and beauty) situated on the Acrocorinth, an 1,886-foot-high fortified mountain, and the sanctuary of Asclepius (god of healing). The pagan temples were the focal point of social activity. The idol (statue, in this example) itself may be nothing, but the power behind the idol that is not to be overlooked.
People would converge in ‘harmony’ by invite along the lines of “so and so invites you to dine at the temple of Serapis” which brought everyone to a place…a building of four walls. Congregating in cultic meals and temple worship, where the food itself is indifferent, but participation in the cultic meal gives credibility to the idol and forges a union with the patron god or goddess.
GOD told us in Leviticus 26, “I will put my dwelling place among you” or did HE? The verb translated “live with” [enoikeo] means to “inhabit” or “be at home”. In verse 12, “to walk among” is actually to “walk in and around” [en (in) + peri (around) + pateo (walk).
This translates INSIDE!
The Greeks loved to build temples and place statues and obelisks round about. When Jesus Christ went to the temple and saw proprietors/business establishments set up before Him…He grew angry. He grew angry over several issues! One…money! Two…sacrificial offerings.
Money was a HUGE issue then, and now. It’s definitely a root of evil. Also, we have the killing of animals for sacrifice. All of this was taking place before a building meant for worship!
The pledge of the sovereign’s presence and protection that it carried with the moral mandate for GOD’S people to “come out from them and be separate”. To touch no unclean thing! The concern was for Israel to cut all ties with idolatry, practices and impurities of any pagan culture. The same is true for today.
The defilement affected body and spirit. The Greek text was literally “flesh and spirit”.
Connect this passage to the body of believer’s!
Someone on FACEBOOK posted, “Did Jesus die for everyone?” Then replied, “I’ll answer that with another question, did Jesus die for both goats and sheep?”
My response was this…”What we consider to be a wolf, could very well turn into a sheep before all is said and done. That’s why we are NOT to judge anyone.”
Call out to anyone and everyone! We are told to come OUT OF the world. To purify ourselves from physical and spiritual pollutants.
Do you see how this pertains to the homosexuality issue? It’s not only a lifestyle choice but a spiritual choice.
DO NOT be deceived, GOD will not be mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
That was an example of how one can be deceived!
