Truth is inspiring, it is guarded by GOD, and will triumph over all opposition!

THE SCARLET WHORE OF RELIGION

I know it sounds a ‘bit’ harsh, but the TRUTH usually is.

Religion is likened to a contract where the small print can get you in trouble if you don’t see it. Contracts have restrictions and conditions. A contract has no emotional bond, and upholds man’s law where there is no justice but only vengeance.

Religion is man-centered

Jesus Christ is God-centered

A Catholic theology professor at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts is stirring up controversy on campus after a student journalist exposed some of his past writings arguing that Jesus was a “crossdressing,” gender-fluid “drag king” who supported gay pedophilia

Jesuit-Run College of the Holy Cross Now Declares that Jesus Christ was a ‘Drag King’ who had ‘Queer Desires’

In a remarkable re-reading of the Bible, Professor Liew has argued that Jesus is not only “king of Israel” and “king of the Jews,” but “also a drag king,” as presented in the New Testament Gospel of John. Saint John’s constant references to Jesus wanting water, giving water, and leaking water “speak to Jesus’ gender indeterminacy and hence his cross-dressing and other queer desires,” Liew contends.

Tat-Siong Benny Liew was appointed in 2013 to fill the Chair of New Testament Studies for the college in Worcester, Massachusetts. Ever since, he’s brought what student Elinor Reilly said in a college newspaper piece are “unconventional readings of Scripture” and “a new theological perspective to Holy Cross.”

Writing for the Fenwick Review, Reilly says “the centrality of sex and gender to his way of thinking about the New Testament” informs the professor on how to teach Jesus Christ to students.

Reilly refers to a book co-written by Liew, “Queering Closets and Perverting Desires: Cross-Examining John’s Engendering and Transgendering Word across Different Worlds,” which she writes “demonstrates the centrality of sex and gender to his way of thinking about the New Testament.”

… Professor Liew explains that he believes Christ could be considered a “drag king” or cross-dresser. “If one follows the trajectory of the Wisdom/Word or Sophia/Jesus (con)figuration, what we have in John’s Jesus is not only a “king of Israel” (1:49; 12:13– 15) or “king of the Ioudaioi” (18:33, 39; 19:3, 14– 15, 19– 22), but also a drag king (6:15; 18:37; 19:12),” he claims. He later argues that “[Christ] ends up appearing as a drag-kingly bride in his passion.”

Professor Liew continues:

In addition, we find Jesus disrobing and rerobing in the episode that marks Jesus’ focus on the disciples with the coming of his “hour” (13:3– 5, 12). This disrobing, as [Colleen] Conway points out, does not disclose anything about Jesus’ anatomy. Instead, it describes Jesus washing his disciples’ feet. As more than one commentator has pointed out, foot-washing was generally only done by Jewish women or non-Jewish slaves. 12 John is clear that Jesus is an Ioudaios (4:9, 22; 18:33– 35; 19:40); what John is less clear about is whether Jesus is a biological male. Like a literary striptease, this episode is suggestive, even seductive; it shows and withholds at the same time.

Professor Liew asserts that Jesus’s “excessive” and “deceptive” speech would be considered “feminine” in the culture of the time. In defense of this claim, he states that in Greco-Roman culture:

Women pollute since their moist and soft nature is also more susceptible to the assaults of wanton desires, erotic or otherwise. In short, women are wet and (thus) wild. I am suggesting that John’s constant references to Jesus wanting water (4:7; 19:28), giving water (6:35), and leaking water (19:34) speak to Jesus’ gender indeterminacy and hence his cross-dressing and other queer desires…

He clarifies that he is not suggesting that Christ is actually a woman, but that he is neither male nor female. “I want to suggest that John’s crossdressing Jesus shows that a so-called ‘core’ is but a(n significant) effect of bodily acts,” he writes.

That interpretation, in turn, leads to an odd view of the Holy Trinity — and let’s just say it goes off the rails after that.

Liew isn’t just one flaky professor at the school. He teaches the primary New Testament class at the college and his “position and prestige which accompany an endowed chair in Religious Studies testify to the esteem in which his work is held by the College’s administration and academic community.”

“He continues to be held up as an example and a bold successor to the learned and discerning tradition of our Catholic and Jesuit College of the Holy Cross,” Reilly write.

In response to the controversy, a college spokesman defended Liew and his beliefs in a statement to Fox News:

“The decade-old work referenced in the Fenwick Review article was not intended for an undergraduate classroom, nor has it ever been assigned at Holy Cross.

“It was an intentionally provocative work, not a statement of belief, meant to foster discussion among a small group of Biblical scholars exploring marginalization. No one has made a complaint about the content of Professor Liew’s classes in his four years at Holy Cross.”

College President Philip L. Boroughs, who is an ordained Jesuit priest, also told Fox News that while he disagreed with Liew’s interpretation of the Gospel, he supported Liew’s right to academic freedom and praised him as a “dedicated teacher and an engaged scholar” as well as a “man of faith”:

“I know Professor Liew to be a dedicated teacher and an engaged scholar. He is a man of faith, and he and his family are active members of a church community. Academic freedom is one of the hallmarks of a liberal arts education. Scholars in all disciplines are free to inquire, critique, comment, and push boundaries on widely accepted thought. However, I strongly disagree with the interpretation of John’s Gospel, as described in the Fenwick Review, and I find it especially offensive in this most sacred of all weeks in the liturgical calendar.”

“What I am suggesting is that, when Jesus’ body is being penetrated, his thoughts are on his Father. He is, in other words, imagining his passion experience as a (masochistic?) sexual relation with his own Father,” Liew has written.

Ms. Reilly observes. “He continues to be held up as an example and a bold successor to the learned and discerning tradition of our Catholic and Jesuit College of the Holy Cross.”

Scalfari says to the Pope, “Your Holiness, in our previous meeting you told me that our species will disappear in a certain moment and that God, still out of his creative force, will create new species. You have never spoken to me about the souls who died in sin and will go to hell to suffer it for eternity. You have however spoken to me of good souls, admitted to the contemplation of God. But what about bad souls? Where are they punished?” Pope Francis says,  “They are not punished, those who repent obtain the forgiveness of God and enter the rank of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls.”

ONE WORLD: EVANGELICALS JOIN INTERFAITH LEADERS IN WASHINGTON TO CREATE A ‘MULTI-RELIGIOUS BODY’ TO BRING ABOUT ‘WORLD PEACE’

One of the many spiritually deadly legacies of evangelist Billy Graham is the embracing of ecumenism…

THE FOLLOWING IS FROM A TRANSCRIPT OF AN APPEARANCE BY BILLY GRAHAM ON ROBERT SCHULLER’S “HOUR OF POWER,” PROGRAM #1426 ENTITLED SAY “YES” TO POSSIBILITY THINKING, WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY BROADCAST MAY 31, 1997:

SCHULLER: TELL ME, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FUTURE OF CHRISTIANITY?

GRAHAM: WELL, CHRISTIANITY AND BEING A TRUE BELIEVER–YOU KNOW, I THINK THERE’S THE BODY OF CHRIST. THIS COMES FROM ALL THE CHRISTIAN GROUPS AROUND THE WORLD, OUTSIDE THE CHRISTIAN GROUPS. I THINK EVERYBODY THAT LOVES CHRIST, OR KNOWS CHRIST, WHETHER THEY’RE CONSCIOUS OF IT OR NOT, THEY’RE MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. AND I DON’T THINK THAT WE’RE GOING TO SEE A GREAT SWEEPING REVIVAL, THAT WILL TURN THE WHOLE WORLD TO CHRIST AT ANY TIME. I THINK JAMES ANSWERED THAT, THE APOSTLE JAMES IN THE FIRST COUNCIL IN JERUSALEM, WHEN HE SAID THAT GOD’S PURPOSE FOR THIS AGE IS TO CALL OUT A PEOPLE FOR HIS NAME.

AND THAT’S WHAT GOD IS DOING TODAY, HE’S CALLING PEOPLE OUT OF THE WORLD FOR HIS NAME, WHETHER THEY COME FROM THE MUSLIM WORLD, OR THE BUDDHIST WORLD, OR THE CHRISTIAN WORLD OR THE NON-BELIEVING WORLD, THEY ARE MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST BECAUSE THEY’VE BEEN CALLED BY GOD. THEY MAY NOT EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF JESUS BUT THEY KNOW IN THEIR HEARTS THAT THEY NEED SOMETHING THAT THEY DON’T HAVE, AND THEY TURN TO THE ONLY LIGHT THAT THEY HAVE, AND I THINK THAT THEY ARE SAVED, AND THAT THEY’RE GOING TO BE WITH US IN HEAVEN.

SCHULLER: WHAT, WHAT I HEAR YOU SAYING THAT IT’S POSSIBLE FOR JESUS CHRIST TO COME INTO HUMAN HEARTS AND SOUL AND LIFE, EVEN IF THEY’VE BEEN BORN IN DARKNESS AND HAVE NEVER HAD EXPOSURE TO THE BIBLE. IS THAT A CORRECT INTERPRETATION OF WHAT YOU’RE SAYING?

GRAHAM: YES, IT IS, BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT. I’VE MET PEOPLE IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE WORLD IN TRIBAL SITUATIONS, THAT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN A BIBLE OR HEARD ABOUT A BIBLE, AND NEVER HEARD OF JESUS, BUT THEY’VE BELIEVED IN THEIR HEARTS THAT THERE WAS A GOD, AND THEY’VE TRIED TO LIVE A LIFE THAT WAS QUITE APART FROM THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY LIVED.

SCHULLER: I’M SO THRILLED TO HEAR YOU SAY THIS. THERE’S A WIDENESS IN GOD’S MERCY.

GRAHAM: THERE IS.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I think it’s important for people to see how close religion is related to Satan…not only did Jesus Christ detest religion but our history can prove that it breeds war and hate. Those two thing only equate to death.

Jesus Christ told us that:

Jesus Christ saw sin as the enemy [Religion sees people as its enemy] The revelation of GOD is that no religion can stand before HIS grace. Truth be told the Latin word ‘religion’ means to “tie or fasten”. This implies being bound by rituals and rules. Jesus Christ said He came to “set us free.” Opposite ends of the spectrum!

This reminds of a trend that is so popular right now! Ghost-hunting. So sad. You see in Acts 17:22…Paul stands up and declares, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.” What does Paul mean by referring to their idolatry as “religious?” The Greek word that Paul used was desisidaimon, which is derived from two other Greek words: deido, meaning “to fear or respect,” and daimon, the word for “demons.” What Paul was saying is that he observed that they had “great fear and respect for demons,” or that they were very religious and superstitious. Is this what the “Ghost-hunters” are doing? Revering demons in their own self-made religion?

Ultimately, isn’t this what the world is doing right now by assembling the massive conglomerate of religions into one (universal religion)? The One World Religion which is backed by the New World Order.

Jesus Christ is the truth, light and the way [Religion is about political correctness] Isn’t the criteria for the consideration of a “religion” merely socialogicial, psychological, creedal, liturgical or organizational epistemological arguments by humans? Epistemology is about the “way we know things” while ontology is about WHAT THINGS ARE. The Word was, is and always will be! GOD is forever, as is HIS WORD…The Bible.

Jesus Christ said to go into the world and serve [Religion says to come to the church and serve] Serving Jesus Christ is about love. Love is a verb. It is action oriented…not grudgingly but willingly. He encourages us to follow His lead (washing His disciples feet, an act of love, humility and service). The most valuable things we can share is ourselves: our time, our talents, our energy.

Religion wants you to go to church and fill the tithing plate. Churches are led by the notion that the pastor must be paid, and that taxes on income are not an issue. It’s not about the church or the people in it…it’s about giving to those in need. The richest entity in the world is the Roman Catholic Church who flaunts its riches while its congregation starve (hunger in the flesh and spirit).

Jesus Christ’s message is one of love and mercy [Religion is fueled by fear and punishment] Jesus Christ was what some called, a radical. Truth is radical. Radical means getting to the “root” of things. GOD is about order, while Satan is about ego. Jesus Christ didn’t fall into any category and to some He was unpredictable. But, He was consistent. He didn’t bow down to anyone.

Religion is about self gratification. Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law? Satan knows best that pride fuels hate.

Jesus Christ says love, mercy and forgiveness by His grace [Religion tells us grace is negligent]

Jesus Christ tells us that salvation by any other means that simply receiving the gift is works-based salvation and this is technically; Law vs. Grace.

Jesus Christ said to listen & watch [Religion says to follow the signs] Jesus Christ was in the Garden of Gethsemane when He told Peter, John and James to stay awake and pray. He said this three times, checking on the apostles between each prayer and finding them asleep. He commented: “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”. This is a sign of our present time. Many are asleep to the truths of what transpires in this world. Watch and pray. We are to take heed as to not fall prey to temptation. Vigilance in our relationship to GOD, and to guard oneself against deception.

Religion – In contrast, all pagan religions…(all religion) emphasize images, idols, symbols and rituals. If you look around you begin to notice the symbols of false religions…the all-seeing eye, the pyramid, etc. The Roman Catholic Church rituals tells us to go to a box (confessional), reveal your sins then repeat the same prayer over and over to gain forgiveness. All churches have the image of what they believe to be Jesus Christ, or other graven idols and to bow down and pray over them because they were “saints”. Lastly, many people who are believers actually think that we are to pay more attention to what’s going on…such as signs in the sky, political events and even numerology….becoming insensitive to our responsibilities.

Jesus Christ promises us we shall prosper in eternity [Religion promises us prosperity on earth]

Jesus Christ promises unconditional love [Religion is a conditional contract]

Jesus Christ tells us that the Cross is the example of how His life shaped the course of history as the most revolutionary event of all time. His life proves His authority and power breaks the bonds of sin and assures our forgiveness and eternal life for those who accept His gift of salvation.

Religion says we must follow the steps. Hear. Believe. Repent. Confess. Be baptized. Conditional contracts law says you must follow the contract to the letter or you fail to receive the judgment.

Jesus Christ said the Cross is our proof of life after death [Religion says proof is graded by constitutional curves with reincarnation as the scale of enlightenment]

Jesus Christ said the life and death, with resurrection is final proof of who He claimed to be.

LIES: But, religions promise the scale of reincarnation (metapsychosis) as the enlightenment. For example; after so many reincarnations…you finally learn your lessons, you “graduate” as you become enlightened. The rebirth mechanism in Buddhism refers to teaching that the actions of a person lead to a new existence after death, in endless cycles called samsara. This rebirth doctrine is based on behavior.

Religion is served best, cold! Bell Curve Religion

WHY I HATE RELIGION BUT LOVE JESUS

What if I told you Jesus came to abolish religion
What if I told you voting republican really wasn’t his mission
What if I told you republican doesn’t automatically mean Christian
And just because you call some people blind
Doesn’t automatically give you vision

I mean if religion is so great, why has it started so many wars
Why does it build huge churches, but fails to feed the poor
Tells single moms God doesn’t love them if they’ve ever had a divorce
But in the old testament God actually calls religious people whores

Religion might preach grace, but another thing they practice
Tend to ridicule God’s people, they did it to John The Baptist
They can’t fix their problems, and so they just mask it
Not realizing religions like spraying perfume on a casket
See the problem with religion, is it never gets to the core
It’s just behavior modification, like a long list of chores
Like lets dress up the outside make look nice and neat
But it’s funny that’s what they use to do to mummies
While the corpse rots underneath

Now I ain’t judgin, I’m just saying quit putting on a fake look
Cause there’s a problem
If people only know you’re a Christian by your Facebook
I mean in every other aspect of life, you know that logic’s unworthy
It’s like saying you play for the Lakers just because you bought a jersey
You see this was me too, but no one seemed to be on to me
Acting like a church kid, while addicted to pornography
See on Sunday I’d go to church, but Saturday getting faded
Acting if I was simply created just to have sex and get wasted
See I spent my whole life building this facade of neatness
But now that I know Jesus, I boast in my weakness

Because if grace is water, then the church should be an ocean
It’s not a museum for good people, it’s a hospital for the broken
Which means I don’t have to hide my failure, I don’t have to hide my sin
Because it doesn’t depend on me it depends on him
See because when I was God’s enemy and certainly not a fan
He looked down and said I want, that, man
Which is why Jesus hated religion, and for it he called them fools
Don’t you see so much better than just following some rules
Now let me clarify, I love the church, I love the Bible, and yes I believe in sin
But if Jesus came to your church would they actually let him in
See remember he was called a glutton, and a drunkard by religious men
But the Son of God never supports self righteousness not now, not then

Now back to the point, one thing is vital to mention
How Jesus and religion are on opposite spectrums
See one’s the work of God, but one’s a man made invention
See one is the cure, but the other’s the infection
See because religion says do, Jesus says done
Religion says slave, Jesus says son
Religion puts you in bondage, while Jesus sets you free
Religion makes you blind, but Jesus makes you see
And that’s why religion and Jesus are two different clans

Religion is man searching for God, Christianity is God searching for man
Which is why salvation is freely mine, and forgiveness is my own
Not based on my merits but Jesus’s obedience alone
Because he took the crown of thorns, and the blood dripped down his face
He took what we all deserved, I guess that’s why you call it grace
And while being murdered he yelled
“Father forgive them they know not what they do.”
Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you
And he absorbed all of your sin, and buried it in the tomb
Which is why I’m kneeling at the cross, saying come on there’s room
So for religion, no I hate it, in fact I literally resent it
Because when Jesus said it is finished, I believe he meant it
